What the total is made of, paying by card, your receipt, and who to ask about a refund.
A paid event shows what entry costs on its page, under Entry, to anyone who opens it — signed in or not. It gives the total, and beneath it the entry fee and the fees that make up the rest. A free event says Free to enter.
On a paid event, the Register to compete box says what entry costs and that it is paid by card. Press Register and the form opens: your competition weight first, then the price, then the card form.
Then press the button, which names the amount: Pay and the total, and enter. Your bank may ask you to confirm the payment before it goes through; follow its prompt. While the payment is on its way the card reads Processing your payment… — do not close or leave the page.
You pay when you submit your entry, not later when the organizer reviews it. Your entry then goes to the organizer like any other — see registering for an event.
Your full card number never reaches BoutHost, and BoutHost does not store it.
| Line | What it is |
|---|---|
| Entry fee | The amount the organizer set. |
| Service & processing | One combined fee. It covers card processing and keeps BoutHost running. |
| Total | What you pay. |
The service and processing fee is added on top of the organizer’s entry fee, not taken out of it. The small information button beside it says the same thing on screen.
The form says so beside the button, and you are not entered. Check the details, or try a different card.
Now and then the answer about a payment does not come back straight away. The event page then shows Confirming your payment in place of the form.
Do not enter your card again. If you have not heard shortly, get in touch with the organizer.
When a payment goes through, you get a receipt:
On the event page, your entry shows a Paid line with the amount and the card you used. View receipt, beneath it, opens Your receipt: the entry fee, the service and processing fee, the total paid, the date you paid, the card, and a reference for the payment when there is one.
Withdrawing does not refund you automatically — see withdrawing from an event.
If you withdraw and then enter the same event again while registration is still open, you do not pay twice. The form tells you that you already paid, and on what date, and that the payment covers this entry, so you won’t be charged again. You are asked only for your weight, and no second receipt is sent.
That holds while your earlier payment is whole. If any of it has been refunded, or is on its way back, entering again asks you to pay again.
An entry fee is paid to the event’s organizer, and BoutHost does not issue refunds. If you withdraw, the organizer turns your entry down, or the event is canceled, ask the organizer. Whether to refund you, and how much, is their decision, and the refund comes from them.
If a payment is refunded in full, the Paid line and its receipt leave your entry on the event page. Keep the receipt email.
A paid event can only take entries once its organizer has finished setting up their payouts. Until then, the Register to compete box says Card payments are not switched on yet instead of showing a form, and you cannot enter.
There is nothing for you to fix. The organizer is named on the event page — get in touch with them.
