Why we ask, what it unlocks, and what to do when the message does not arrive.
Almost everything BoutHost tells you arrives by email — an event you entered being cancelled, its date or venue moving, a host approving your entry. An address that was mistyped at sign-up is an address none of that reaches, and neither you nor the host would know.
So confirming your address is what unlocks taking part: choosing your roles, creating an event, managing one, and setting up a fighter profile.
Your dashboard and your account settings are never gated. That is deliberate — if your address is wrong, settings is exactly where you go to fix it, and locking you out of it would be a dead end.
Browsing published events needs no account at all.
When you register we send a message with a confirmation link. Open it and you are done. Your dashboard carries a reminder with a Resend button until you do.
You do not need to do any of this. A federation membership record already carries a confirmed address, so accounts created that way are treated as confirmed.
