The Weigh-In Desk

Where to Find It

Manage → Weigh-in, under Event day on your own event. The screen is called Weigh-In and Check-In, and it is built to be used standing at a table with a phone, one fighter at a time.

Every fighter with a live entry has a card of their own: pending, approved and waitlisted entries. Withdrawn and rejected entries are not on it. Each card saves on its own, so there is no page-wide Save button to forget.

Recording a Weight

Type what the scale showed into the box, choose lb or kg, and press Save.

• Pounds take up to two decimal places, like 156.25.
• Kilograms take one decimal place, like 70.5.
• The box only accepts a number, and a comma is read as a decimal point.

The card then shows two figures side by side: Declared, which is what the fighter entered at, and Weighed, which is what you just recorded. Recording a weight never changes the declared weight — that stays what you matched bouts on.

Typed the wrong number? Save the right one over it. Clear removes a recorded weight, and asks first.

Checking Somebody In

Press Check in when a fighter arrives. The card shows Checked in, and the time is kept. If two phones check the same fighter in, the first arrival time is the one that stays.

Undo takes a check-in back off. It asks first, and it never touches the recorded weight. Clearing a weight never touches the check-in either.

Still to Do and Done

The cards are split into two groups:

• Still to do — waiting on a weight, a check-in, or both.
• Done — weighed and checked in. These cards are tinted green, and you can still correct anything on them.

A fighter moves to Done the moment the second of the two is recorded, and back again if either is cleared or undone. The confirmation message says when a card has moved, so it never looks as though it vanished.

Both groups are sorted by last name. Find a fighter… at the top searches both groups at once, because the person in front of you may be one you already finished.

A Fact, Not a Verdict

The desk records what the scale said. It does not decide whether anybody made weight: there is no "missed weight" label, no color for being over or under, and nothing is refused for being far from the declaration. You read the two numbers and decide.

Nothing is required, either. A fighter with no weight and no check-in is simply somebody nothing has been recorded for.

Two Phones at Once

The screen updates itself every few seconds, so work done on another phone shows up without reloading. A box somebody is typing into is never overwritten by an update.

When You Can Use It

Any time — a weigh-in is often the day before, and you can still correct things after the card has run. Only a canceled event stops you recording anything.

Who Sees It

Your fighters each see their own, on their entry on the event page: Weighed in at, marked as recorded by the organizer, and Checked in with the time. Each appears only once you have recorded it.

Nobody else sees it. A recorded weight and a check-in are never shown on the public event page, the competitor list or anybody's profile.
