What the Webpoint button does, which organization to pick, and why two memberships start as two accounts.
The sign-in page offers a Sign in with Webpoint button above an ordinary email and password form. Both lead to the same BoutHost account, and you can use the platform fully either way.
Use the Webpoint button if you already hold a membership with a federation that uses Webpoint. The sign-in page lists the federations you can currently use. Use email and password if yours is not among them, or if you would rather keep your BoutHost account separate.
It sends you to your federation's own sign-in page. You enter your credentials there, not here — BoutHost never sees your federation password. When the federation confirms who you are, it sends us your name, email address, membership number and staff level, and we create or update a BoutHost account from that.
Your name and email are refreshed from your membership record every time you sign in this way, so correcting them with your federation corrects them here too.
If more than one federation is available, the button opens a short list and asks which one you are signing in through. That choice has to be made before you are sent onward, because it decides which federation's sign-in page you land on — it is not something we can ask afterwards.
Pick the federation your membership is actually with. Signing in through the wrong one will not find your record.
Membership numbers are issued independently by each federation, so the same number means different people at different organizations. BoutHost keeps them apart.
Signing in through a second federation creates a second BoutHost account, even if both memberships use the same email address. That is deliberate: one email address is often shared — a coach commonly uses their own for the athletes they register — so a shared address does not tell us two memberships belong to the same person.
If they really are both yours, join them yourself: sign in with one, open Settings → Connected accounts, and choose Connect for the other federation. You are sent to that federation to sign in, and when you come back both memberships sit on the one account. Your profile then shows both.
You can disconnect an organization from the same screen. If it is the only way you can sign in, set a password first.
This is normal, and BoutHost expects it. Each membership gets its own account, each with its own roles and its own registrations, and mail about each one is addressed to that person by name.
One thing to know: only one account per email address can have a password. The others sign in through their federation. If you need a password on an account that does not have one, and another account already uses that address, contact support.
Signing out of BoutHost ends your BoutHost session only. It does not sign you out of your federation's system.
The commonest causes are harmless:
/login instead. If it keeps failing, note the federation you chose and the time it happened — that is what makes it findable in our logs.
