Inviting Fighters

Where to Find It

Manage → Find fighters, under Build the card on your own event. The link appears once your event is published: an invitation is a link to your public event page, so there is nothing to invite anybody to while it is a draft or canceled. A Find fighters to invite button also appears on Manage and on the Bouts screen while nobody has entered.

An Invitation Is an Email

Pressing Invite sends that person an email asking them to enter your event, with the date, the town and a link to your event page.

It does not enter them, and it does not hold a place. If they want to take part, they register themselves on your event page like anybody else, and their entry comes to you for review in the usual way. The email tells them the same thing.

Who You Can Find

The screen searches the BoutHost competitor directory — the same people anybody can find at Find people. That means adults who have a public profile and are listed in search, and who have left Let organizers invite me to their events switched on in their privacy settings. Anybody else simply does not appear.

You can narrow the list by:

• Name or gym
• Gender
• Role — it starts on fighters, but choose Anyone listed to include coaches and others with a profile
• Weight from (lb) and Weight to (lb), using the weight each fighter says they compete at

Each result shows the person's gym, the weight they compete at and the record they entered themselves. Their name opens their profile.

Sending One

Press Invite on a row. A window asks you to confirm, naming the person and saying that BoutHost will email them. Press Send invitation to send it, or Cancel.

An email cannot be taken back, which is why it asks first.

What Each Row Says

• Invite — you can invite them.
• Invited with when — you already have. Each person can be invited to an event once.
• Already entered — they have a live entry on this event.

Somebody who withdrew or was rejected is not treated as entered, so you can invite them back.

Limits

You can send up to 20 invitations an hour. Past that, the screen asks you to try again later.

Your own account needs a date of birth before you can invite anybody, and members under 18 cannot send invitations. If either stops you, the screen says so at the top and tells you what to do.

If Registration Is Not Open

You can invite people before registration opens — that is often the best time. The screen reminds you that they will not be able to enter until it does, and your event page tells them when it opens.

What the Invited Person Can Do

The email explains why they received it and links to their settings, where they can stop these emails or stop organizers contacting them altogether. You are not told whether anybody opened it; the only thing you will see is an entry, if they decide to register.
