Importing an Event from Webpoint

Do Not Type It In Twice

If you are a contact on an event in your federation's system, that event appears on your BoutHost dashboard under From Webpoint. Press Set up here and the create form opens already filled in.

You need to have signed in through Webpoint for this to appear — the list is found by your membership number. If you have no Webpoint account linked, the panel is not shown at all.

What Gets Filled In

The name, subtitle, venue and address, dates and times, and the federation and sanction number all come across from your federation's record.

The sanction is confirmed automatically. Because every one of those values came from the federation's own system, addressed by their own event identifier, the sanction claim on an imported event is confirmed on the spot — no waiting for review.

Imported Fields Are Locked

The fields your federation answered are shown as values rather than as editable boxes, with a small lock beside them. That is what the automatic confirmation rests on: it is granted because the card matches the approved record, so the card has to keep matching it.

Fields your federation left blank stay editable, so you can fill them in yourself. Many events name no start hour, for example.

What You Still Choose

The time zone, the description, the registration window, the entry fee and the poster are all yours. So is the discipline, unless your federation's own record settles it.

The time zone in particular is not locked and cannot be — your federation sends no zone at all, so it is a guess from the state either way. Check it.

Changing an Imported Event Later

An imported event stays locked on the edit screen too. When the details change at your federation, use Re-sync from Webpoint on the edit screen: it re-reads their record, shows you exactly which fields would change and to what, and applies them when you accept.

Two things worth knowing about the diff:

• It is all or nothing. You accept the whole set of changes or none of it.
• The row to read carefully is a field you filled in yourself that your federation has now started answering. If you typed the town because their record had none, applying will overwrite what you typed. The modal flags it.

If nothing has changed, it says so and offers to re-check — which is useful more often than it sounds, because correcting a time zone is the commonest way a host unsettles their own confirmed sanction.

Events That Will Not Appear

• Events that have already finished.
• Events where you are not listed as a contact.
• Events you have already imported.

Manually Created Events

None of this applies to an event you typed in yourself. There is no lock, no banner and no re-sync — it is yours to edit freely.
