Finding an Event

Browsing and searching upcoming and past events, and adding one to your calendar, sharing it or finding your way there.

You Do Not Need an Account to Look

The list of events, each published event’s page and the list of past events are open to anyone. You only need to sign in when you want to register.

The Events List

The home page lists upcoming events, soonest first, 24 to a page. Each card shows:

  • the poster, the event’s name and any subtitle
  • the discipline and the town
  • the date
  • how many competitors have entered
  • whether the card is sanctioned
  • its status, and a line under it: Closes and a date while registration is open, Opens and a date if it opens later, or View event

An event stays on this list until it is over, then moves to Past Events.

Searching

Type into Search events… at the top. Each word you type is matched against the event’s name and subtitle, and an event has to match every word. Part of a word is enough.

Filters

Press Filters to narrow the list:

Filter What it does
State Events in one state.
Town Events whose town contains what you type.
Discipline Boxing, MMA, Kickboxing or Muay Thai.
When Next 30 days, Next 3 months or Next 6 months.
Sort Soonest first or Latest first.
Registration open now Only events taking entries right now.

Clear filters resets them. The search box has its own clear button.

While the panel is closed, the Filters button shows how many filters are set, so a shorter list always says why. Your search and filters are part of the page’s address: a link you copy or bookmark keeps them, and opens with them already applied.

Past Events

Under the heading, Looking for one that has already happened? opens Past Events — cards that have already taken place, most recent first. It has the same search box and the State, Town and Discipline filters.

On the Event Page

Times on an event’s page are the event’s own local time, with its time zone shown.

Getting There

Under Where, an event with a town has Google Maps and Apple Maps buttons. Each opens the location in that maps app or site, in a new tab. Some events also offer Show map, which loads a map from Google into the page.

If the organizer has not given a street address yet, the links open the town rather than the venue, because a venue name alone can match the wrong building. Check the address again before you set off.

Add to Calendar

Add to calendar downloads a calendar file for the event. It holds the event’s name, its start (and its end, when the organizer gave one), its location, and a link back to the event page. Your calendar shows the time in your own time zone.

The file is a copy of the details at the moment you download it. If the organizer moves the event afterward, your calendar does not change by itself — update it, or download the file again.

It is not offered for an event with no date yet, or for one that has been canceled.

Sharing

On a phone, Share opens your phone’s own share options. Elsewhere it opens a menu:

  • Copy link, which reads Copied once the link is on your clipboard

Nothing from X or Facebook loads on the page unless you press one of those.

If an Event Disappears

A canceled event leaves both lists. Its page stays open only to people who had entered it or been invited to it, and it says the event was canceled.

BoutHost is combat-sports event management — hosts run events, fighters declare the weight they will compete at, and federations confirm the cards they have sanctioned.
